The Leverage Wire uses AI to monitor sources and draft original synthesis. Every story is checked against its sources and approved by a human before publication.
We monitor a curated list of established news sources continuously. When several of them report the same underlying event, our system groups those reports into a single story and scores it for significance: how many independent outlets carry it, whether it involves companies and markets our readers follow, and whether we can add a live number or a calculator to it.
Stories that clear that bar are drafted by an AI model working only from headlines, short excerpts and the facts contained in them — never from the full text of another publication.
It does not publish. Nothing reaches readers without an editor reading the draft alongside the original source list and approving it.
It does not copy. Every draft is checked automatically against the source excerpts for closeness of wording. Anything reading too close to a source is rewritten once and, if it still fails, held for a human rather than published.
It does not invent people or events, and illustrative images generated by AI never depict real individuals and are labelled as illustrations.
Every story ends with a sources footer crediting and linking to each outlet whose reporting contributed to it. Original reporting belongs to the people who did it, and we send readers to them.
A human editor is accountable for every published story, whatever tools were used to prepare it. If we get something wrong, tell us on the Corrections page and we will fix it in the open.
